This community service activity was carried out by the Community Service Team of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Andalas University, in collaboration with SD Negeri 33 Rawang Barat, Padang City. The activity took place in the school meeting room and aimed to educate elementary school teachers and students on the utilization of organic waste through the process of making, harvesting, and applying eco-enzymes. The program included socialization, education about eco-enzymes, hands-on training, and demonstrations of their production and use. This initiative provided various benefits, particularly in environmental education, character building, and practical skills development. Students were introduced to the types of organic waste and their impact on the environment. The activities are carried out in several stages: providing educational materials, practical sessions on the production and harvesting of eco-enzymes, and interactive discussions. The results of this knowledge transfer are expected to increase the role of schools in shaping students with ecological awareness and encouraging responsible behavior towards waste management. This early intervention aims to instill sustainable environmental awareness and empower students as agents of change in environmentally friendly waste management practices.
Rahmi AwalinaHasbullah HasbullahReni KojaWellyalina WellyalinaAninda Tifani PuariNovelina NovelinaEfrina Efrina

Peanuts are one of the leading commodities of Nagari Tigo Balai, Matur District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. Some people in Nagari Tigo Balai have processed peanuts into rendang peanuts and many still sell their raw peanuts directly from their harvest. The processed peanuts from Nagari Tigo Balai craftsmen are still packaged in ordinary packaging, namely using transparent plastic and makeshift labels. This activity aims to provide assistance to the peanut MSMEs of Nagari Tigo Balai to produce packaging according to the target market. This activity is carried out in several stages, namely socialization, packaging design, and assistance in the use of packaging. One of the productive peanut MSMEs in Nagari Tigo Balai is the LBM MSMEs. The assistance activity has produced three packaging designs, namely the PP standing pouch packaging design, the PP plastic packaging sticker label design, and the PP plastic packaging screen printing label design. The most suitable and needed packaging design for the rending peanut craftsmen of LBM MSME Nagari Tigo Balai is the sticker label on PP plastic packaging. The chosen design is consistent with the target market of rendang peanuts produced by LBM MSME Nagari Tigo Balai, which includes consignment system at souvenir outlets, direct sales in nearby markets, and distribution through local traders.
Delvi YantiAninda Tifani PuariFitri MailaniDeivy Andhika Permata

Community engagement was conducted to introduce food and non-food products of animal origin to elementary school students in Nagari Saniangbaka. Honey was selected as a food of animal origin, while organic fertilizer was selected as a non-food of animal origin. The former extension was conducted in SDN 08 Saniangbaka, while the latter extension was conducted in SDN 10 Saniangbaka. The goal of these activities was to introduce honey and animal fertilizer in order to improve their basic science knowledge and enhance health and environmental awareness. The activities were conducted through short lectures, discussions, quizzes, and the distribution of reward food. Extension of honey began with an introduction to bees as honey-producing insects, types of honey-producing bees, sources of nectar-producing plants, the honey production process, and the health benefits of honey. Extension of organic fertilizer was explained regarding various types of livestock and poultry, the potential for manure to turn into pollution if not utilized, animal manure as a by-product that can be converted into fertilizer, and the role of fertilizer for plants. The first activity significantly broadens participants' insight regarding the important role of bees and honey for humans. The second activity positively increases the interest in utilizing animal by-products for plant growth and fosters environmental concern. Both activities enrich students' science insight toward selected products of animal origin, and improve their awareness of food and the environment.
Aronal Arief PutraAlya Putri AzzuhriPutri Amalia SariRenasya Nurul Aulia

https://aijsed.lppm.unand.ac.id/index.php/aijsed/article/view/67

Nagari Kudu Gantiang is one of the nagari where most residents are engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. However, the utilization of organic waste such as crop residues and livestock manure has not been optimized. Agricultural waste is often discarded or openly burned, leading to environmental pollution, while farmers remain highly dependent on chemical fertilizers whose prices continue to increase. Based on these conditions, this community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of the women’s PKK group in processing organic waste into compost as an effort to promote sustainable agriculture. The methods included counseling, participatory discussions, and compost-making demonstrations using agricultural residues, soil, and livestock manure with the addition of EM4 bio-activator. The activity was attended by 45 participants at the Nagari Kudu Gantiang Office Hall. The results indicated an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in composting techniques, as well as growing awareness of environmentally friendly organic waste management. This program had a positive impact by encouraging household-level composting practices, reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers, and supporting sustainable land productivity at the nagari.
Nika Rahma YantiSilvia Permata SariIrvan JuliandriRera Aga Salihat

Drugs are dangerous chemicals that are used to diagnose physiological and pathophysiological systems, restore and improve health. The large number of cases found related to drug abuse is caused by a lack of knowledge about rational drug use, drug storage, and others. Based on this problem, one of the health workers who plays an important role is the pharmacist. “Apoteker Cilik” is a program that promoted by Regular KKN Phase I students at Universitas Andalas in 2025 as an effort to prevent drug abuse and branding the pharmacist profession from an early age. This activity includes the delivery of educational and interactive material regarding the introduction of the pharmacist profession, introduction to drugs, types of drugs, and DAGUSIBU by 2 presenters. At the end of the session, students filled out a questionnaire with the scoring results showing that of the 40 participants who attended, 97% had good knowledge regarding the material that had been presented.
Daimon SyukriAndhini Aurellyta RidwanShofya Giovani
